The Radioactive Vault Poured Into The River Of The American State Of Michigan

This incident was of concern to the public because the Detroit drinking water intake lines are not far down the river.

This facility was listed by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Environmental Protection Agency as a contaminated site because of its use in the production of uranium and other hazardous chemicals in the 1940s.

The facility is located at 5851 West Jefferson, previously the site of the world’s first atomic bomb and continued to produce uranium rods in the 1950s.
