Record floods in British Columbia

Thousands of residents of the Canadian province of British Columbia were forced to leave their homes because of floods, which some local authorities have called the strongest in the past 200 years.
As a result of snowmelt after an unprecedented snowy winter, heavy rainfall and extremely high temperatures, the local rivers came out of the banks, flooding the adjacent territories. Blurred some roads, damaged power lines.
The most serious of the floods was the town of Grand Forks, whose population is about 4 thousand people.
As meteorologists note, in the mountains of Monashi there is still a lot of snow, the melting of which can lead to even more serious floods in the region.
