Residents of the settlement of Port Heyden, which is in
Alaska, were surprised when they saw on the shore a lot of walruses. A
fortnight ago a flock of animals was found, consisting of hundreds of
individuals. Now there are more than a thousand animals. The event
became significant: before on the beach people saw a maximum of 2-3
walruses, so the appearance of a huge flock attracted both ordinary
residents and journalists.
Experts believe that walruses, most likely, are looking for new places for feeding. Usually, marine animals in such quantities sail to the shore of Bristol Bay, this is 200 kilometers from the village of Port Heyden.
