Joe Biden Wednesday evening said Putin’s “unprovoked and unjustified” attacks on Ukraine will bring a catastrophic loss of life.
Thursday morning (Ukrainian time) Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the start of military operations in Ukraine.
Explosions were heard Thursday morning in several cities including Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Odessa, and Berdyansk.
Ukraine shut down its airspace as Putin launched a ‘special military operation’ against the eastern region on Donbas.
The extent of Putin’s military operation was not clear Wednesday evening as Joe Biden condemned the attack.
“President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering,” Biden said. “Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring, and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive way.”
“The prayers of the entire world are with the people of Ukraine tonight as they suffer an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces,” Biden said.
