Huge waves hit the coast of Sochi, Russia

The storm in Sochi lasted two days in a row, it was the strongest since 2012. This was reported by the press service of the city.

On the night of November 30 to December 1, the strength of the wave reached seven points. “The last time such a phenomenon was recorded in 2012, then the impact of the elements came to the Imereti region,” – said the press service of the city administration.

They noted that on the night of December 1 to 2, the storm was three-point.

The Imereti Lowlands embankments in the Adler district of Sochi and the Lazarevsky district embankments were most affected by the storm. At Svirsky Beach in the center of Lazarevsky the shore protection washed away.

Now Sochi’s beaches and embankments are being restored: they are being cleaned of coarse debris, sand and pebbles. “Thanks to the coordinated work of all responsible structures, victims on Sochi beaches have been avoided,” – noted in the administration.
