Asteroid 2020 HX3 Fly Over Earth Tonight

The recently discovered asteroid 2020 HX3 will fly over the Earth at a distance of 252,820 km at 22:38 – today is April 24, 2020. This is closer than the distance from Earth to the Moon, which is 384,400 km.

This is the 31st known asteroid flying past Earth within 1 lunar distance from the beginning of the year and the 6th this month.

2020 The HX3 was first seen at the Pan-STARRS 1 Observatory, Haleakala, Hawaii on April 19, five days before it was approaching.

The object belongs to the Apollo group of asteroids and has a calculated diameter of 11 to 24 m.
