86 dolphins found dead on a beach in Namibia

86 dolphins were discovered dead on a remote beach in Namibia on March 6, 2020. According to the first studies, mammals died about a week before they were discovered in Gottentot Bay.

The cause of the mass death remains unknown and will be investigated in the coming weeks or months.

“Unfortunately, we were unable to take samples due to decomposition, but we took water samples to determine if dolphins ate toxic plankton,” experts said.
