Doctors warn people about the dangers to health and advised to avoid the midday sun. After a record hot Sunday, the temperature will decline, according to Deutsche Welle, and notes that thousands of people become victims of heat waves in the country. These are the data of the German Institute of Robert Koch. “People over 75 years of age are at particular risk,” said the representative of the institute Matthias an der Heyden, who participated in the study on the effects of hot weather.

In particular, 7,600 people became victims of peak temperatures in an unusually hot 2003 in Germany. There are no complete data for 2018, but in Berlin alone, overheating has led to the death of 490 people. The extraordinary heat that is now established in Europe will also lead to numerous victims, experts warn. Another serious problem is wildfires in the eastern part of the country.

Again, many foci are recorded in the federal state of Brandenburg, where, at the beginning of June, the fire became the largest since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Here emergency fire danger has been declared. Firefighters are still coping with fire, although in many places the extinguishing is complicated by unexploded ordnance. But the worst situation is in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where a fire occurred at one of the landfills near the city of Lubten in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

It became the largest in the history of this region of Germany. Here residents of three settlements were evacuated – about 500 people in total. On June 28, the fire was extinguished, but on the night of July 1, it flared up with a new force and in the morning covered 430 hectares. In addition, its smoke spreads in the direction of populated areas and has already covered a large area, reaching including Leipzig, Dresden and Berlin, in which the smoke is felt quite strongly, according to Berliner Morgenpost.
