Remember growing up and having adults tell you to watch your language? While they were most likely referring to cusswords, their advice still holds true today.
Watching your language is very important as words contain a great deal of power. They can be used to help or hurt and have the power to persuade. You can even use words to help you live a more positive life!
WORD POWER
Have you ever seen a magician at work? Many times they use a phrase like “hocus pocus” or “abracadabra” while performing their tricks. Words are associated with manifestation and magic.
While pulling a rabbit out of a hat doesn’t seem like much, those words serve as a signal to grab your attention. They alert you to an upcoming change or transformation.
The same goes for incantations, spells and prayers. While they appear to be mere statements, those words pack a big punch. Those words coupled with intention, serve as vibrations that carry forth out into the Universe for manifestation. As the Bible says “ask and you shall receive.” Words are powerful transmitters.
Most of us have personally experienced the power of words within our own lives. Haven’t you been affected by someone’s words at some point? Maybe you were encouraged by a friend’s kind words or hurt by the words of a lover. Either way, those words had an impact on your life.
ENCOURAGING WORDS
With all this word power, wouldn’t it make sense to seek out positive and encouraging ones? Use words to build up yourself and others. So often we get into the habit of talking without considering what our words really mean.
For example you may be stressed out at work and find yourself saying, “This job is killing me.” Whoa! Those are some powerful words. Think about their influence for a moment.
We are well aware that our thoughts and words can shape our lives. Is that what you want to manifest when you feel stress at work?
Watch what you say and see if you can put a positive spin on those words. Even a subtle change can make a big difference. To use our job stress example, you might say, “I can overcome this job’s challenges.”
Words can reframe a situation and change its energy. You may even notice an instant change in your mood and perception. Now that’s encouraging!
BUILDING A BETTER LIFE
Your words have the power to help you build a better life. By consciously choosing positive and empowering words, you build a positive and empowering life. You’ve seen how realigning your statements can change your thoughts and perceptions. Keep practicing and it will spill over into your reality.
By using positive words you send out positive high-energy vibrations. As we know from the Law of Attraction, similar vibrations will be attracted back to you.
Before you speak, think about what your words will attract. If you’re like most people, you only want the best coming back to you. Let your words emphasize those actions.
Also build a better life through your interactions with others. Think about what you say to family, friends, coworkers and anyone you come in contact with. Your words can help uplift them. People often greet us and ask, “How are you?” and we give the standard response of “Fine.”
Choose a more positive heartfelt response like, “I am fabulous. Thanks for asking.” Get creative! Use words like stupendous, outstanding, and remarkable.
It may seem silly at first, but those words have power. They can change the way you feel and also inspire others to do the same.
Continue using positive words for every situation in your life. It takes some practice but it can actually be a lot of fun.
Treat it like a game and learn a new positive word or phrase every day. Then go out and share those words with others. Before you know it, you will have created an entirely new and uplifting language!
