Scottish sanctuary Callanish

Callanish is the largest known to date monument of megalithic culture in the British Isles.
In the reconstructed present form, “Callanishi stones” were installed during the Neolithic period, between 2,900 and 2,600 years BC. e. And earlier, before 3,000 BC. Here, there was a sanctuary. Callanish form 13 vertically standing groups of stones or individual monuments, forming circles with a diameter of up to 13 meters. The height of the stones varies from 1 to 5 meters (on the average, about 4 meters).
