The columns of weathering, or the Mansi blockheads – a geological monument in the Troitsko-Pechora region of the Komi Republic on the mountain Man-Pupu-Ner, Russia (in the language of Mansi means “Small mountain of idols”).
Mansi and the Komi idolized the great stone statues, worshiped them, but going up to Man-Pupu-Ner was the greatest sin. The pillars have bizarre outlines and, depending on the place of inspection, resemble that of a huge man, then the head of a horse or a ram. Six of them lined up at the edge of the cliff. One pillar, 34 meters high, stands somewhat apart from the others.
