Powerful downpours caused a catastrophic flood in Sri Lanka

Hundreds of people were injured as a result of the abundant monsoon rains that ravaged the country, over 30 people were killed, bridges, roads, damaged infrastructure and more than 5,000 residential buildings were destroyed.
Most of the dead are the result of lightning strikes and unexpected floods.
