On December 26, 2017, Russia’s strategic missile forces successfully
launched the Topol / SS-25 rocket from the Kapustin Yar test site. The
test was used “to collect experimental data that will be used to develop
advanced anti-missile systems.”
The launch of the Topol / SS-25 rocket at night gave an amazing light
show and was noticeable even in Austria and photographed by Gerald Rexek
who posted the images on his Facebook page.
