Ghislaine Maxwell has told US investigators that she doesn’t believe the official version regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s death
Epstein’s confidante and partner has said she does not believe that the late pedophile committed suicide behind bars.
Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking for the predator Epstein, made her comment during an interview with the Department of Justice last month.
RT reports: According to a transcript released Friday, Maxwell told investigators, “I do not believe he died by suicide, no.” She dismissed the idea that an outside party could have ordered a “hit” on Epstein, adding, “If it is indeed murder, I believe it was an internal situation.”
When asked if Epstein could have been targeted because he possessed damaging information on powerful figures, Maxwell said, “I do not have any reason to believe that. And I also think it’s ludicrous.” She added, “If that is what they wanted, they would’ve had plenty of opportunity when he wasn’t in jail.”
Maxwell also denied that Epstein engaged in blackmail or kept a “client list” linked to sex trafficking.
Epstein was found dead in 2019 in his cell at a Manhattan correctional facility while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
