Trump ‘likely’ to defer tariffs on goods under US-Mexico-Canada pact: Lutnick

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told CNBC Thursday that goods and services compliant with a trade pact between the United States, Mexico and Canada would probably receive a one-month exclusion from President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

“It’s likely that it will cover all USMCA compliant goods and services, so that which is part of President Trump’s deal with Canada and Mexico are likely to get an exemption from these tariffs,” Lutnick told the network, adding the reprieve would be for a month.
