Speaking about the damage in North Carolina that has “been allowed to fester,” Trump told the press, “We’re going to get it fixed up. It should’ve been done months ago.”
After North Carolina, Trump said he’ll be heading to Los Angeles to “take a look at the fire that could have been put out if they let the water flow.

POTUS previously slammed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for failing the American people, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity earlier this week all the agency does “is complicate everything.”
“FEMA has not done their job for the last four years,” he said during the interview. “But unless you have certain types of leadership, it’s really, it gets in the way. And FEMA is going to be a whole big discussion very shortly, because I’d rather see the states take care of their own problems.”

While some mainstream media outlets such as Reuters claimed the trip “could inflame partisan tensions over recovery efforts,” the typically left-wing New York Times admitted, “federal emergency managers from both parties have made the same argument” as Trump regarding a proposal to turn disaster response powers back to the states.
A former nuclear scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy posted a viral video online Friday explaining why Trump’s visit and promise to help North Carolina is such a big deal to those still dealing with the catastrophe.
“We have been ignored for months, now we are finally getting help,” Matt Van Swol wrote 119 days after the storm wrecked his town.
President Trump making the North Carolina and Los Angeles visits his first trips since taking office emphasizes the importance of the matter to his administration, which stands in stark contrast to the Biden administration’s lackadaisical response.
