The local media reported that the intriguing image was taken on Sunday afternoon near the city of Tarma.
The three young men who were practicing their motocross skills in the rugged landscape did not notice the dark saucershaped object until they checked their pictures the next day.
The photo was so astonishing that the motocross riders appeared on a national news program in Peru.
They claimed that they did not tamper with the image and, wondering if the anomaly could be extraterrestrial, asked for experts to examine the case.
