A woman has recalled the bizarre moment she claims she “met God” after falling into a coma.
The woman was seriously ill and was taken to the hospital, where she had a strange religious experience. Wittbrodt — who often posts about her experiences to Facebook and in podcasts– told news.amomama.com that after suffering from anaphylactic shock, she felt her and her grandmother’s soul was revealed to her.
52-year-old Penny Wittbrodt from Kentucky (USA) became seriously ill, she had difficulty swallowing and breathing, and her son took her to the hospital.

In the hospital, the woman was connected to oxygen, but she became even worse.
Wittbrodt claims that at this point her soul left her body , and she realized: “Time here [on Earth] is so structured, and time there really gets away from you.”
After suffering the allergic reaction from eating shellfish, Wittbrodt claims she saw a “bright light” before being told telepathically by her grandmother’s spirit to remain calm.
Wittbrodt also claimed she saw a bright light before and then her grandmother’s spirit suddenly appeared and reassured her, telling her to “remain calm”.
It was then that she had a religious experience, saying she came face to face with God where she angrily spoke of the hardships and sorrow she and her family had faced in their life.
According to Wittbrodt, God’s reply was that the suffering in this world is be rewarded in the afterlife and she felt at peace.
Wittbrodt said she asked God to allow her to remember the surreal experience before she was brought back to life, saying she would feel hopeless if she was to return without the memory.
Wittbrodt claimed she was immediately healed when she woke up from her coma.
“I’m so relieved that someone’s there, and I’m not alone,” she told news.amomama.com.
Waking up from a coma, the woman felt that she had come to terms with the suffering experienced in her life.
“We are made to move forward, overcome difficulties and share kindness,” she said.
Wittbrodt said the biggest lesson she learned was that “earthly comforts don’t hold the same value in the afterlife. It’s the hardships and struggles that bear fruit.”
She says that each person gets a chance to choose their family and what life lessons they want to learn before coming into this world. Before you came, you knew what problems you would face.
