A resident of Michigan, USA, heeded the unexpected advice of a stranger and won four million dollars in the lottery. This is reported by the news agency UPI.
A 54-year-old American woman said that she and her husband stopped at a gas station and went to the store. When the couple stood in line at the cashier, a stranger advised them to buy a lottery ticket for $30 and assured them that they would definitely win four million dollars.
After pondering his words for a bit, the couple followed his advice. Already at the car, the couple removed the protective layer from the ticket and saw the amount of winnings promised by the stranger.
“At first we doubted that we understood everything correctly, and decided to properly consider the ticket at home,” the woman says.
To dispel any doubts, she went to the office of the organizer of the lottery, where she was confirmed winning.
The money could be received either in the form of 30 monthly payments of 133 thousand dollars, or immediately, by donating part of the amount. The woman opted for a lump sum payment and received $2.5 million.
Earlier it was reported that a robber from the Argentine city of Puerto Madryn won the lottery, promised the police that he would no longer steal, and decided to distribute the winnings to his former victims.
