Heavy rain and hail hit the United Arab Emirates

Rain of varying intensity, accompanied by lightning and thunder, struck parts of the country Friday, and intermittent fog formed, due to weather fluctuations, as the region was under the influence of a surface air depression from the northeast, accompanied by an air depression and cold air mass in the upper atmosphere, which caused a large amount of steam to flow, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM).

The formation of intermittent fog, which lasted for seven hours, began at 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Razeen in Abu Dhabi, Madinat Zayed, Hameem, Bida and Dafas in Al Dhafra, and in various parts of the country.

Light rain began at 2 p.m. Friday in Wadi Al Qur and the Hatt area in Ras Al Khaimah. There was light to moderate rain with lightning and thunder in the south of RAK, which turned into heavy rain at Idhna and heavy rain with lightning and thunder at Al Saadi, while moderate rains occurred on Sharjah-Kalba Road and in other parts of the country.

The lowest temperature of 16.2°C was recorded at Jebel Jais in Ras al-Khaimah at 6:15 a.m. Friday.
