According to the State Meteorological Agency AEMET, the province of Alicante has received some exceptional rainfall in intensity. In the southern half of the Valencian Community, especially in the area of Vega Baja del Segura, where the school Dama de Guardamar had to be evacuated.
As reported by the Emergency Coordination Center on its Twitter page, about 30 cars were stuck in floodwater caused by heavy rains in urban areas of this region of Alicante.
By about 2 p.m., the rains had stopped and started moving north from Vega Baja, where they hit Bikes Vinalopo and Alicante. Here the storms dropped a significant amount of rainfall, more than 70 l/m² in the municipality of Torrevieja.
