As soon as the calf was born, it became the center of attraction in the village as locals flocked to see the animal for themselves.
Veterinarian Gudde Singh said that the buffalo calf was born without the help of specialists. He added that the calf is fully healthy and is being cared for as usual.
This is not the first time such a rare phenomenon has occurred in the country. Recently, a two-headed calf was born in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district, which locals called a miracle.
Dr. Satya Prakash Pandey, chief veterinarian of Chandauli, said the rare calf was not the result of any divine intervention. He added that as the fetus develops in the womb, “the cells divide into many parts, and during this process sometimes additional cell development occurs. That is why two heads are formed.”
