“There’s nothing we can do to stop UFOs” – This could be the biggest failure of U.S. espionage since 9/11, former Pentagon investigator warns

UFOs are flying over the U.S., the military doesn’t know what they are or who is behind them, and we can’t stop them, a former Pentagon investigator said.

Luis Elizondo, who headed the secretive Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), told The US Sun newspaper that the strange “UFO provocations” reported by the US military in a series of videos are real, and the question now is simply “what are they?”

While he cannot discuss much of his work because it remains “classified,” he said he has seen “very convincing” data that has convinced him of the existence of these UFOs threatening the United States.

He left his post at AATIP because he sought to bring the UFO debate – now more commonly referred to in scientific circles as unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) – to the forefront, calling it a “national security issue.”

And now the U.S. is just months away from getting what is hoped to be an unclassified UFO report released by the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Department of Defense (DoD).

Lawmakers on the Intelligence Committee voted last year to create the UFO Task Force, and in December gave them a 180-day deadline to prepare a report on strange phenomena caught on camera by U.S. military personnel.

“I’m not a UFO expert, I’m an investigator, my job was simple – to collect data and tell the truth,” Mr. Elizondo said.

“There’s something in our sky, we don’t know what it is, we don’t know how it works, we don’t fully know what it can do, we don’t know who controls them, we don’t know its intentions, and we can’t do a damn thing about it.”

“If it turns out that an unknown adversary is ahead of us technologically, we will be dealing with a 9/11-level intelligence failure.”

“When I worked at AATIP, our goal was to try to find a conventional explanation for these phenomena, but there are simply no such explanations!”

He remains hopeful that public support and bipartisan action by lawmakers will help uncover the subject and begin discussing UFOs openly, acknowledging that they are a fact.

Without wanting to get into specifics, when asked if Russia and China are studying UFOs, he said: “We have every reason to believe that foreign hostile countries are equally – if not more – interested in studying UFOs as much as we are. This has been confirmed from various sources. We are certain of that.”

With the deadline for the UFO\UAP report approaching, Mr. Elizondo urged people to “manage their expectations” about what might be made public — with some of the information likely to remain classified to protect methods and sources.

“It took three years to write the 9/11 report – and if those UFOs have been in our skies for decades, 180 days is enough time to provide the level of information that Congress is asking for and deserves.”

He added that while some government agencies continue to try to suppress information about UFOs, he believes the genie is out of the bottle to provide more disclosure.

“They exist, the question is what are they and what are we going to do about it.”
