March snowfalls hit Kashmir

Snowfall in the upstream and rains on the plains of the Kashmir Valley triggered a new wave of cold weather, officials said, with temperatures dropping seven degrees below normal for this part of the year. 

The Gulmarg tourist area in northern Kashmir has received nearly two feet of fresh snow since Sunday night, while many other hilly areas of Kashmir have received moderate to light snowfall. 

 According to them, snowblowers are involved in the affected areas.
