Dozens of birds found dead in North Carolina, USA

 

Dozens of birds have died for unknown reasons in Leland, according to local SkyWatch Bird Rescue.

“After calling our Wildlife Hotline last night, 12 birds were received at once on our porch for a non-contact landing outside of business hours for emergency assistance.

This is a very unusual technique, so we suspected that there might be even more of them.

Volunteers went out today to search the area and found dozens more in the McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell neighborhoods and at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Leland, North Carolina. ”

Unfortunately, many birds were dead by the time rescuers reached them, or in a catatonic state.
