He was already called the Swiss Stonehenge, which is only partially true – Lake Constance is washed by the shores of three countries: Switzerland, Germany and Austria. The monument was discovered after a serious archaeological study of the bottom of the lake, the stones were covered with silt and bottom sediments.
Archaeologists believe that during the Neolithic, these stones were located on the lake or in shallow water. It is not yet clear for what purpose they were folded. Such structures could be burial mounds, borders, or signs at intersections.
