Stromboli Volcano Eruption in Italy

On July 3, 2019, the Stromboli volcano erupted, killing one tourist and filling the surrounding settlements with ash.

On that tragic day, two strong volcanic explosions shook the island of Stromboli, causing panic among the local population and tourists.

Two separate explosions occurred within a short time, but both with devastating effects on the surrounding area.

A week after the volcanic event, locals and volunteers are still working on cleaning the streets from ash.

Meanwhile, the Stromboli volcano continues to erupt.
