Hundreds of beetles worms moving as a single organism on the sidewalk in Santa Catarina, Brazil

My first impression is: “wow, what the hell is this?”, Says an eyewitness who shot the video.

“I would describe it as hundreds of long black worm-like beetles with tiny paws crawling over each other, slowly moving along the sidewalk, as if they were migrating to a new area together.
“I’m still not quite sure what a bug it is, some say a caterpillar, others talk about wasp larvae, etc. It confuses me a lot.”
