At the bottom of the ocean found the incredible “mirror pools”

This landscape is like an alien world. Strange optical effects and dazzling mineral formations bloom on the crest of an underwater vortex of burning water. She would have long become a ferry, if not for the pressure of the ocean.

Researchers aboard the Schmidt Ocean Research Institute recently took some amazing shots of a field of hydrothermal vents, about two kilometers below the surface of the waters of the Gulf of California. Ecosystems surrounding cracks at the bottom of the bay have recently attracted the attention of scientists by unusual biological and mineral forms.

Massive 23-meter volcanic vents are another example of the hidden life of our planet, which we are just starting to discover. Corrugated mineral shelves are painted in bright shades, and shimmering liquids accumulating under them, refract light like mercury mirrors. Researchers have called them “mirror pools”.

Unfortunately, in addition to the wonderful alien paintings of underwater life, scientists have discovered debris at the depths. Even in the darkness of the inviolable and sunless world there are signs of a destructive human presence.
