Scientists talked about the causes of the fire tornado

Experts told about the reason for the appearance of a terrible cataclysm that raged in California in the summer.

An eerie firestorm that swept over Northern California in late July arose as a combination of several factors. The key was the formation of the so-called cumulum-pyrocumulative cloud. It grew very quickly, having doubled in 15 minutes and stretched 12 kilometers up.

The formation of such a cloud, according to scientists, contributed to the strengthening of the horizontal wind flows beneath it, and increased the rotation of the air, which led to the appearance of a tornado. Other factors were low humidity, record high temperatures, and the “cyclonic wind near-surface shift zone”.

In the USA, strong hurricanes are often recorded, but such “fire tornadoes”, in which a fire rises up to kilometers, are quite rare. According to meteorologists, the data obtained from the satellite study of this phenomenon will help to predict such cataclysms in time and evacuate people in time.
