A 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit the coast of Sulawesi

An earthquake of magnitude 7.4 occurred off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The earthquake was recorded at 18.02 local time (13.02 Moscow time). The epicenter of aftershocks was located 80 kilometers north of the city of Palu on the island of Sulawesi. The focus lies at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Data on casualties or destruction has not yet been reported.

Earlier on Friday, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Sulawesi Island, also near the city of Palu. Then the hearth lay at a depth of 18.1 kilometers.
