In the western part of Iran, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred. The epicenter of the tremors was 87.8 km northwest of the Iranian city of Kermanshah, home to about 621 thousand people. The hearth of the earthquake lay at a depth of 8-10 kilometers. Underground shocks were also felt in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
