Two-meter tsunami hit the resort beaches of Mallorca and Menorca

The tsunami wave, which reached a height of two meters, hit the beaches of the Mediterranean islands of Mallorca and Menorca, belonging to the group of the Balearic Islands.

The first blow fell on the western coast of Menorca yesterday early in the morning, and a little later the tsunami reached Mallorca.







Waves hit the beaches, coastal tourist infrastructure, many hotels and bungalows located on the shore were flooded.

The owners of many pleasure boats and yachts were caught by the impact of the elements in a rush and their ships were thrown ashore.

According to meteorologists, this was meteotsunami. These are big waves caused by sharp changes in air pressure, when powerful storms are raging in the ocean.
