NASA is building an apparatus that will withstand the temperature of the Sun

It is planned that this summer the new NASA spacecraft will be launched to the Sun. We are talking about the observatory Parker Solar Probe, which will plunge into the solar atmosphere as deeply as no other spacecraft.

Thanks to a close approach to our central light, Parker Solar Probe will be able to study in detail the solar corona – the outer layers of the solar atmosphere, which are above the thin transition layer above the chromosphere, where the temperature sharply increases at least 100 times.

Being in this area, the spacecraft will be able to study the particles moving here, which come as far as the orbit of Neptune.

Many are wondering how the spacecraft can survive in this region. Where do temperatures reach extremely high levels? The thing is that the spacecraft is provoked in such a way that it is able to withstand extreme environmental conditions, including high temperatures, pressure, and high radiation levels.

The key moment is its individual thermal shield and autonomous system that helps to protect the spacecraft from intense solar radiation and does not allow the coronal material to “touch” the spacecraft.
