Ebeko volcano on the Kurils island of Paramushir on Tuesday threw a column of ash to a height of up to three kilometers above sea level, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“On the Ebeko volcano there was ash blast to an altitude of up to 3 thousand meters above sea level.” The ash plume spread to 8 kilometers east of the giant, “the report said.
It is noted that the “orange” color code of aviation danger has been established. This means that the activity of the volcano can affect low-flying aircraft and the operation of the North-Kurilsk airport.
The Ebeko Volcano, located seven kilometers northwest of North Kurilsk in the northern part of the Vernadsky Range, “woke up” in November 2016, since then it regularly emits ashes. Scientists call this a normal phenomenon. The height of the volcano is 1156 meters.
