This accident is another proof that the Tesla autopilot is imperfect, and drivers should not disregard the advice given by the brand’s representatives: in particular, all the applicants are recommended to stick to the steering wheel while driving. After this incident, the company immediately stated that “the autopilot does not make the car immune to accidents.”
As reported by the police department of Laguna Beach, the car was indeed activated function of “unmanned” driving. There was no one in the police car, and the Tesla driver received minor injuries.
