The governor of the US state of Hawaii has declared one of the
areas of this American state a disaster zone due to the consequences of
the eruption of Kilauea volcano. The US President was asked to help.
Assistance to the federal authorities may be needed for the
evacuation of residents with the help of helicopters, which are not
enough for Hawaii. In addition, money is needed to eliminate the
consequences of the eruption, which, according to forecasts of
geologists, can happen again.
About two thousand people left their homes. Lava flows have already
led to the destruction of more than 35 houses and buildings in the
region; there are no victims.
