Amazing solar halo in Florida

Residents of the American state of Florida on Thursday, May 10, was lucky to observe an amazing and rare atmospheric phenomenon – the solar halo.
The halo appears around the disk of the Sun at a time when small ice crystals in the Earth’s atmosphere refract sunlight. The halo is usually associated with the presence of cirrus clouds at an altitude of 5-10 km in the upper layers of the troposphere, or with ice fog. The radiance of the ring around the sun can be of different colors – from white to the color of the rainbow.
