A rare “fiery rainbow” on April 18 adorned the sky over the city of
Xindian in Taipei County, Taiwan. An amazing natural phenomenon was
captured in the photo.
“Fiery rainbow” is officially called a round-horizontal or okologorizontalnoy arc. This is one of the halo species. For the appearance of a relatively rare optical phenomenon in the atmosphere, certain conditions are necessary: the sun should be above 58 degrees above the horizon, high light clouds must also be observed in the sky, and flat hexagonal ice crystals should be located horizontally in them.
