Heavy rains caused floods in the province of La Vega in the Dominican
Republic. Over 4 thousand people were forced to leave their homes.
The Dominican Republic’s Emergency Operations Center (COE) announced a “red” warning due to heavy rains and floods in the province of La Vega and a “yellow” warning in the provinces of Monsignor Novel, Espayillat and Santiago.
Between April 5 and 6, more than 99 mm of rain fell in the Kharabacoa area, in the province of La Vega.
Several rivers in the region left the shores and flooded the surrounding areas. Damage to 833 houses, one house completely destroyed.
