In Japan, the Simmo volcano began to erupt on Thursday in the mountain
range of Kirishima, located on the border of the Miyazaki and Kagoshima
prefectures on the island of Kyushu.
According to the Meteorological Agency of Japan, around 08:00 local time in the area of the volcano, seismic activity was recorded. At 11:00 near the village of Takaharu Miyazaki Prefecture, just 10 km from the volcano, passed ash falls. Around 17:00, the eruption continued.
The third level of danger has been declared in the region. Climbing the mountain and approaching it is prohibited.
The last time the eruption of the Simmoe volcano was observed in October 2017 at that time. Then there was a smoke release to a height of 2.3 km.
