7 nail conditions linked to serious diseases! Do not ignore them!

Take a look at your fingernails. Do you notice anything unusual? Are they with a changed color, visible ridges or dents? If you take care of your nails properly, you’ll prevent many of these problems. Just pay attention to them and observe them.
Nail conditions are usually a sign of nutrient deficiency or maybe some underlying disease, like for example anemia or a thyroid disease. Nails receive the nutrients we take the last, so it’s extremely important to take good care of them.
Our fingernails are created of laminated layers of keratin. This is a protein which grows from the area at the base of our nail under the cuticle. If you have healthy fingernails, they will be smooth and without any ridges, dents or brittleness. They also don’t have any spots or discoloration.
Here are some tips that can help you to have healthy and beautiful nails!
Horizontal Ridges or Dents
This change mostly appears because of high fever, nutritional deficiency, trauma from surgery or psoriasis. They all affect the nail growth and create dents.
You should consume protein regularly. You should intake at least 55 grams of protein every day.
Vertical Ridges
Generally poor nutrition, vitamin or mineral deficiency, and other health conditions can cause vertical ridges.
Polish your nails with several drops of almond oil. After that, use a chamois buffer so that you can remove the upper thin layer of your nails. Do this every week so that you can prevent the condition from appearing once again.
Fungus
Fungus are usually microorganisms or yeast which develop in a wet, warm, and damp environment. The ones which are more prone to yeast are toe nails.
This issue can be approached in 2 ways: soak your nails in some antibacterial tea tree oil or some apple cider vinegar for 15 minutes. Repeat the procedure every day until you’re sure that the fungus has disappeared.
Yellow Nails
This type of discoloration usually appears because of lack of vitamin E.
Consume 400 IU of vitamin E twice a day so that you can prevent this condition. You can also use oils like almonds, hazelnuts, wheat germ and peanuts because they’re amazing antioxidants.
White Spots
A nail injury or zinc deficiency are usually the main causes behind white spots.
Nutritionists claim that we should consume 50 mg of zinc every day. You can take it as a supplement or use more foods rich in zinc: sesame seeds, peas, pumpkin seeds and red meat.
Upward Curling Soft Nails
Iron deficiency is the main reason for this nail condition.
In case your blood tests show iron deficiency, take 325 mg of iron sulfate 3 times a day.
Brittle or Split Nails
Split or brittle nails usually appear because of lack of moisture or lack of biotin, type of B vitamin.
You can take an oral medicine called Biotin (vitamin) for 6 months. You can find it in 1 mg size or smaller. Take it 3 times a day. Pregnant women mustn’t consume it! Biotin is considered to be the best against this kind of a problem, but you can also use calcium, gelatin and colloidal minerals.
Here are also some diseases which can be connected to nail problems:
  • Liver infection usually manifests through white nail beds
  • Coronary illness usually manifests through red nail beds
  • Unending bronchitis usually manifests through yellow nails
  • Flow issues usually manifest through blue nail beds
  • Thyroid infection usually manifests through upward-bending nails
  • Hypo or hyperthyroidism usually manifests through fragile nails
