Volcano Popocatepetl woke up

In Mexico, the volcano Popocatepetl, located less than a hundred kilometers from the capital of the country, awoke. Residents of Mexico City even saw a column of smoke that rises from the crater at a three-kilometer height.

In the settlements located nearer to the mountain, eyewitnesses speak of a very strong roar, which was accompanied by the release of ash.

The Mexican authorities have so far appropriated the “yellow” level to the eruption: this means that there is no immediate danger for citizens, but it is necessary to closely monitor the development of the situation.
