On the Australian coast struck huge waves

On the coast of the country near the city of Gold Coast, rescue services were carried out an operation to save more than 50 people carried away to the ocean in great waves.
The Gold Coast is located in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland. Numerous tourists on the beach did not underestimate the danger of high waves, some had to get out of the water with the help of a helicopter. By the time the man was rescued he had already spent more than two hours in the water.
Meteorologists put forward their own version of the causes of the occurrence of high waves. In their opinion, they appeared because of the tropical cyclone “Gita”, which is now rampant in the north of the Tasman Sea.
