Heavy rains caused flooding in Cyprus

A powerful night rain in the city of Limassol in Cyprus caused damage to thousands of euros, as many homes and cars along the coast plunged under water.
Rescuers received more than 200 calls from local residents with requests for help, mainly for pumping water from flooded houses and cellars of buildings, as well as freeing drivers from water traps.
In the area of the old port from floods, restaurants were seriously damaged, and cars were drowned in the water. Visitors to the institutions were forced to flee from the swift streams of water, climbing chairs and tables.
In areas located on the hills, several landslides came down, however, no serious damage is observed.
