Catastrophic floods in Bolivia and Argentina
From torrential rains Bolivia and Argentina were seriously affected. At least seven people died.
So, as a result of difficult weather conditions in Bolivia, killed at least six people, thousands of people were left without a roof over their heads.
One person was blown away by the flood waters of the flooded river, five more people died as a result of road accidents during the rain in the department of Potosi in the south-west of the country.
According to the Deputy Minister of Civil Defense of Bolivia Carlos Eduardo Bru, at least 50 thousand people in seven of the country’s nine departments were left homeless. The most affected areas are near the southern border with Paraguay and Argentina. Flooded vast areas of agricultural land, destroyed some houses.
More than 60,000 people have been affected by floods and landslides in northern Argentina over the past couple of days. At least 10 thousand people in the city of Santa Victoria-Esta, Salta province, were evacuated. As a result of the landslide, one person died. The supply of electricity was interrupted in a number of areas. Some houses are flooded.
