The NASA showed the “blueest ice” on Earth
The photo showed a floating iceberg in Lake McMurdo in Antarctica. It is partially under water, which makes it a bright blue color. This place looks amazing.
NASA is studying polar ice in the framework of the IceBridge project. To create detailed maps have developed an aircraft. Radar, laser altimeter, radar echo sounder, digital map system and many other devices were placed on its bottom.
The objectives of the IceBridge project include: studying the changes in the surface of glaciers, determining the thickness of sea ice and predicting the effect of glaciers on the Earth’s climate.
